DOCTOR

Tim Ryan M.D.

Dr. Ryan was raised in upstate New York and completed his medical training and Family Practice Residency in Syracuse. He moved to Cartersville in 1995 to join Dr. Tom Bevil at the Family Medicine Clinic. After a few years, he became the Director of Cartersville Medical Center’s Occupational Clinic before he served as the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer.

None of those roles fit well with his vision of practicing medicine, so he and his wife decided to create a traditional, home-style family practice.

In April 2007 they launched The Physician’s Practice by renting a small one room space at Cartersville’s Grove Park Shops. Dr. Ryan just saw the patients and Jonna did everything else. They soon realized that they would outgrow their 750 square foot space so Jonna put her creativity in to designing and supervising the construction of their idyllic medical office at 84 Pine Grove Road next to Dellinger Park. They’ve been seeing patients there since June 2008.

The Physician’s Practice is unique because Dr. Ryan doesn’t accept any third-party payments. He only accepts payment directly from the patients he treats. This arrangement is important to Dr. Ryan because he believes that third-party payers often hinder a meaningful encounter between the doctor and patient. Primary care medicine is more straightforward and much less expensive if the physician chooses not to get entangled with insurance companies.

Dr. Ryan and his staff look forward to providing medical care to his patients for years to come. Contact them if you’d like to become a patient at The Physician’s Practice.

Dr. Ryan is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
